2018 Regional Site Competition

The Executive Office and the Advisory Board of the California History-Social Science Project (CHSSP) at the University of California at Davis invites proposals from four-year institutions of higher education, working in partnership with local schools.

We hope to fund the development of one new CHSSP regional site in one of the following areas of California:  Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, South San Joaquin Valley, or the San Jose / Salinas Valley area.

Proposals can seek up to $225,000 in state funds for the 2018-19 fiscal period; subsequent years’ funding will reduce to $90,000, the average annual allocation for full regional CHSSP site funding.  Site leaders must leverage these limited state dollars annually through grant-writing and contracts with local schools.  Proposals that detail both programmatic, faculty support, and academic preparation, as well as administrative and extramural fund development expertise will be highly competitive.

Forms:

Intent to apply notification is due January 5, 2018.  Final proposals are due February 13, 2018.

For additional information or questions, contact the CHSSP Statewide Office (530-752-0572; chssp@ucdavis.edu).
