Saturday, October 8, 2011 - Saturday Seminar:  What is Civic Freedom?

We’ll begin our year with a discussion of our year long theme, presentations on academic literacy, and lesson design.

November and March - Online Book Discussions:

5th-grade read: Alan Taylor, American Colonies
8th-grade read: Daniel Walker Howe, What Hath God Wrought
11th-grade read: Michael Kazin, Populist Persuasion

There will be grade-level book discussions based on chapters from each text over the course of the year.

Saturday, January 28, 2012 - Saturday Seminar:  Westward Expansion and Civic Freedom

Professor Dan Cady from CSU Fresno will present on his area of expertise, The West and notions of citizenship.
